PD/2T Calculators

pdby2t.com

PD/2T Calculators (pdby2t.com) is calculation software for pressure equipment design, developed by a mechanical engineer working in pressure vessel and equipment design.

The name is the thin-wall hoop stress relation, σ = PD/2t — the first calculation in sizing a pressure vessel shell. The tools here cover what that relation does not: stresses from local loads at nozzles, clips and supports.

Principles

Method stated
Every result names the method it comes from and traces each coefficient to its source.
Limits stated
Inputs outside a method's validated range are reported, not silently extrapolated.
Engineer's inputs
Allowables and material data are entered by the user and printed as entered.
Verification required
Results support engineering judgement. They do not replace review by a qualified engineer.
