What’s new

Recent changes, newest first. The finite-element modules are in early access and under independent verification.

  1. 2026-10-16

A new home page, notes for every module, and a live check

    • Each module has a product name and a picture, and the tools sit under the FEXLA name.
    • Method notes for every module, written from what the calculation does, with a worked number in each.
    • Try a WRC 537 nozzle check on the home page, with no sign-in, and slide through a sample report.
    • A quick-reference page of the formulas, stress limits and standards behind the calculators.
    • Building a lug or agitator model in the FEA tool now asks its question on the page and then opens the model.

    Pipe Atlas grows

    • Large-diameter flanges (ASME B16.47) and B16.5 facings, with the raised face diameter.
    • B16.5 pressure-temperature ratings, with interpolation between temperatures.
    • Gaskets: spiral wound, metal jacketed and ring-joint (B16.20), and non-metallic flat rings (B16.21).
    • Rows that could not be fully cross-checked are marked on the page.

More in the finite-element tools (early access)

    • A rectangular box and plug header module to ASME VIII-1 Appendix 13, with a shell-model cross-check.
    • An elastic-plastic limit-load check to ASME VIII-2 5.2.3.
    • Agitator nozzle: a gusset option, and the flange as the load point with its face deflection recorded.
    • Tailing lug on a base ring, a compression ring above, and two offset lugs.

    A rebuilt report

    • The calculation report follows good finite-element reporting practice: inputs, checks and figures in one document.
    • The site and the tools were restyled.
